Scripture Reference: 1 Peter 5:1-11

God did not leave something as important as His Church without some structure.  In our text today Peter outlines that structure and defines the nature of both a good leader and a good follower.

The Christian Leader

Three fold responsibility:

  • Feed the sheep
  • Protect the sheep
  • Guide the sheep

Four motivations:

  • Not because you must but because you're willing
  • Not for money but for service
  • Not to "lord it over" but to be an example
  • Not for the approval of men but of God

The Christian Follower

  • Humbly submissive
  • Divinely strengthened
  • Fully engaged
  • Mutually inspired
  • Eternally motivated
